Article Processing Charges (APC) and Waiver Policy
Advanced Drug Sciences implements a transparent and equitable Article Processing Charge (APC) model to support editorial management, rigorous peer review, professional production, online dissemination, and long-term digital preservation. The journal is committed to ensuring that financial considerations do not influence editorial decisions at any stage of the peer review and publication process.
1. APC Structure by Publication Period
2026–2027 (Introductory Period)
- Standard APC: USD 950 per accepted article (or equivalent in local currency, where applicable)
- Waiver Policy: A full (100%) APC waiver will be granted for all accepted manuscripts during this period.
- Author Obligation: No payment is required from authors for articles accepted within this timeframe.
From 2028 Onward
- Standard APC: USD 950 per accepted article
- Waiver and Discount Policy: Partial or full waivers may be granted to authors from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), based on World Bank country classifications , or in cases of demonstrated financial need.
2. Differential APC by Author Category
To ensure administrative efficiency and currency stability, APCs are applied based on the corresponding author’s primary institutional affiliation and country of residence.
International Authors
- APC: USD 950 per accepted article
- Applicable to corresponding authors affiliated with institutions located outside Indonesia.
- Payment must be made in United States Dollars (USD) via designated international payment channels.
- Transfer Fees: All bank charges, intermediary fees, currency conversion costs, government tax (if applicable), and transaction-related expenses shall be borne solely by the author and are not included in the stated APC.
Indonesian Authors
- APC: IDR 15,000,000 (fifteen million Indonesian Rupiah) per accepted article
- Applicable to corresponding authors affiliated with institutions within Indonesia.
- Payment must be made in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) via domestic bank transfer or other approved local payment methods.
- Transfer Fees: All bank charges, intermediary fees, currency conversion costs, government tax (if applicable), and transaction-related expenses shall be borne solely by the author and are not included in the stated APC.
3. Payment Terms and Conditions
- The applicable APC is determined based on the corresponding author’s primary institutional affiliation at the time of manuscript acceptance.
- An official invoice will be issued upon acceptance of the manuscript. Payment must be completed prior to final publication.
- The journal reserves the right to withhold publication, delay online release, or retract acceptance in cases of non-payment.
- Authors are responsible for ensuring that payment is completed in full, including any applicable banking or transfer charges.
- All payments are non-refundable except in cases of administrative or billing errors attributable to the publisher.
4. Waiver Governance and Eligibility
- APC waivers and discounts are assessed independently of the editorial and peer review process.
- Editorial decisions are based exclusively on scientific merit, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
- Authors are not required to request a waiver prior to submission; however, waiver requests may be submitted upon or after acceptance.
- The journal reserves the right to request supporting documentation to verify eligibility for waivers or discounts.
5. Ethical and Transparency Standards
This APC policy is implemented in accordance with internationally recognized standards for transparency and best practice in scholarly publishing, including guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) .
The journal periodically reviews its APC structure and waiver mechanisms to ensure fairness, inclusivity, and alignment with global publishing standards.
