Plagiarism Policy
Indigenous: Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi enforces a strict policy of Zero tolerance towards plagiarism. Consequently, we have established the following guidelines outlining the specific penalties for plagiarism detected in any manuscript submitted for publication.
Plagiarism is defined as the "use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work."
All submitted manuscripts must be original, previously unpublished, and not currently under review elsewhere. Any material copied verbatim from another source must be clearly distinguished from the author's original text through the use of (1) block indentation, (2) quotation marks, and (3) proper source attribution.
We utilize Turnitin to assess the similarity index of submissions, after which the editor determines if potential plagiarism has occurred (a copy of the similarity report will be provided to the author). The Editorial Board has instituted the following protocols:
- Similarity Index >40%: The article is rejected. Due to inadequate citation and/or insufficient paraphrasing, the manuscript is outright rejected, and NO RESUBMISSION will be accepted.
- Similarity Index (15-40%): The article is returned to the author for revisions. Authors must provide correct citations for all highlighted similarities and thoroughly paraphrase the text, even when a citation is included.
- Similarity index <15%: The article is accepted, though further citation improvements may be requested to ensure all external sources are properly credited.
For cases falling under categories 2 and 3, authors must carefully revise their manuscripts by adding the necessary citations and properly paraphrasing all external material. The revised article must then be resubmitted alongside a new Turnitin report demonstrating No Plagiarism and a similarity index of less than 15%.
