Publication Ethics

Asian Journal of Islamic Psychology is a peer-reviewed journal published biannually dedicated to disseminating the scholarly study of Islamic psychology from a wide range of scholarly perspectives, reflecting the diversity of approaches and characteristics of this field. In harmony with Pusat Studi Psikologi Islam (PSPI) Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, this journal is committed to upholding standards of ethical behavior at all stages of the publication process, and the authors have to show the approval from Committee Ethics and or ethical statement for each article they submitted.

Publication Ethics for Journal Editors Editors are responsible for everything published in the journal after seeking agreement from the editorial board. Editors should also measure the quality of the material they accept for the journal and be willing to publish corrections and clarifications when required, including the legal requirement related to defamation, intellectual property, and plagiarism.

  1. Editors should act fairly when carrying out their duties, without discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religious or political beliefs.
  2. Editorial team members should not reveal any information related to the article without the author's consent.
  3. The editor should return the article immediately if any article fails to be published in this journal and not use it for personal purposes.
  4. Editors should provide guidelines to authors and reviewers on everything that is expected of them.

Publication Ethics for Reviewers

  1. Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions on submitted papers/articles.
  2. Reviewers are responsible for the feedback and recommendations.
  3. Reviewers give the review objectively and are supported by clear arguments.
  4. Reviewers are responsible for quotes, references, and plagiarism for articles reviewed.
  5. Reviewer keeps the confidentiality of information for personal gain.

The Responsibilities of Authors

  1. The authors must present their scientific articles honestly and without plagiarism and data manipulation.
  2. The authors must comply with the publication requirements in the form of originality of the work, not plagiarism, and the paper/article has not been published in other journals or publications.
  3. The authors point out the references of the cited opinions and works of others.
  4. The authors write the paper or article ethically, honestly, and responsibly, by applicable scientific authorship rules.
  5. The authors are prohibited from sending/publishing the same article in multiple journals or publications.
  6. The authors approve the article through an editing process that keeps the substance and basic ideas writing.
  7. The authors are responsible for the information or statement related to their article that has been submitted.

The Responsibilities of the Publisher

  1. Pusat Studi Psikologi Islam (PSPI) Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta as a publisher of Asian Journal of Islamic Psychology, is responsible for publishing articles after going through the process of peer review, editing layout by the rules of publishing scientific journals.
  2. Pusat Studi Psikologi Islam (PSPI) Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta as a publisher of Asian Journal of Islamic Psychology, is responsible for ensuring academic freedom for editors and reviewers in carrying out their duties.
  3. Pusat Studi Psikologi Islam (PSPI) Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta as a publisher of Asian Journal of Islamic Psychology, is responsible for maintaining privacy, protecting intellectual property, copyright, and editorial freedom.
