LEARNING STRATEGY USED BY STUDENTS OF ENGLISH DEPARTMENT IN SATURDAY ENGLISH GATHERING PROGRAM (SEGA)

Abstract

This study aimed to find out learning strategy used by students of English department in Saturday English Gathering Program (SEGA).The study used a analysis descriptive statistic research. Te participants of this study were 50 students third semester of SEGA student. The instruments to collect data used questionnaires, and observartion. The data were analyzed quantitative and qualitative. the data of questionnaires were analyzed quantitative. And the data observation analyzed qualitative The results of this study is concludes that the learning strategy used  by English Department Student in Saturday English Gathering Program (SEGA) is memory strategy, cognitive strategy, compensation strategy, metacognitive strategy, affective strategy, social strategy. And the highest dominant is cognitive strategy
