Publication Ethics

The Informatics Education and Learning Technologies is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and adheres strictly to the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal ensures that all parties involved in the publishing process - authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher - act with integrity and maintain ethical standards.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Authors must ensure that their submissions are original, free from plagiarism, and have not been published elsewhere.
  • All data, methods, and results must be reported accurately and honestly.
  • Authors are required to properly acknowledge and cite the work of others.
  • Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed upon submission.
  • For studies involving human participants, informed consent and relevant ethical approvals must be provided.

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for making fair, unbiased, and independent decisions regarding manuscript acceptance or rejection.
  • The editorial team ensures that all submitted manuscripts are evaluated based on scholarly merit, without discrimination regarding authors' race, gender, nationality, or affiliation.
  • Editors must maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and ensure a transparent peer-review process.
  • Editors should actively prevent publication misconduct, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, and data fabrication.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, objective, and timely feedback on the submitted manuscripts.
  • All information obtained during the peer-review process must remain confidential and must not be used for personal advantage.
  • Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest with the manuscript under review.
  • If reviewers identify plagiarism, ethical violations, or data manipulation, they are obliged to inform the editorial team.

Responsibilities of the Publisher

  • The publisher supports the editorial board in maintaining academic integrity and upholding ethical standards.
  • In cases of ethical violations, the publisher cooperates fully with editors and authors to investigate and, if necessary, issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern.

Handling of Publication Misconduct The journal strictly prohibits:

  • Plagiarism (including self-plagiarism)
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Duplicate submission or redundant publication
  • Improper authorship attribution

Detected violations will result in immediate rejection of the manuscript or retraction of the published article. Authors and institutions may also be notified in severe cases.
