Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal Penelitian Sains Teknologi is committed to ensuring the originality and integrity of all published works. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable. The journal applies strict plagiarism screening procedures to maintain high academic standards and publication ethics.

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

Direct copying of text, ideas, data, or figures without proper citation
Paraphrasing substantial portions of another work without appropriate acknowledgment
Self-plagiarism, including redundant or duplicate publication of the author’s own previously published work
Improper attribution of sources or references

2. Plagiarism Screening Process

All submitted manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software prior to the peer-review process.

The journal applies the following similarity criteria:

Overall similarity index must not exceed 25%
Similarity from a single source must not exceed 5%

Manuscripts exceeding these thresholds may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected without further review.

3. Handling Plagiarism Cases

If plagiarism is identified at any stage of the publication process:

Before Peer Review
- The manuscript will be rejected or returned to the author for correction, depending on the severity.
During Peer Review
- The review process will be suspended until the issue is resolved.
After Publication
- The article may be retracted in accordance with the journal’s retraction policy.
