Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration by any other journal.
  • The manuscript is relevant to the Aim and Scope of Jurnal Penelitian Sains Teknologi.
  • The manuscript is written in clear and correct English and has been carefully proofread for grammar, clarity, and academic style.
  • The manuscript file is prepared in Microsoft Word format (.docx) using the prescribed font, spacing, and margin settings.
  • All tables and figures are clearly labeled, numbered sequentially, provided with appropriate captions, and cited in the text.
  • References are formatted according to the IEEE Style and all references cited in the text are included in the reference list.
  • The manuscript has been checked for plagiarism and meets the journal’s similarity threshold.
  • Any use of generative AI tools has been clearly disclosed in the Acknowledgements or a dedicated AI Usage Statement, in accordance with the journal’s Generative AI Policy.
  • All authors have significantly contributed to the research and agree with the submitted version of the manuscript.
  • Any conflicts of interest have been disclosed, if applicable.
  • Ethical approval and informed consent have been obtained and stated in the manuscript, where required.
  • The corresponding author has completed all required metadata fields during the online submission process.

Author Guidelines

1. General Information

Jurnal Penelitian Sains Teknologi publishes original and high-quality research articles in the fields of science and technology. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

All submissions undergo a peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance.

2. Types of Articles

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  1. Original Research Articles
    Reports of original research findings with a clear methodology, analysis, and discussion.

  2. Technology Development Papers
    Articles focusing on the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of technological models, systems, or prototypes.

  3. Systematic Review Articles
    Critical and structured reviews of recent literature that provide significant theoretical or practical insights.

3. Language

Manuscripts must be written in clear and correct English. Authors are strongly encouraged to ensure grammatical accuracy and clarity prior to submission.

4. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be prepared in the following order:

  1. Title

    • Concise, informative, and reflective of the manuscript content

    • Avoid abbreviations and formulas where possible

  2. Author Names and Affiliations

    • Full names of all authors (without academic titles)

    • Institutional affiliation(s) and country

    • Corresponding author’s email address

  3. Abstract

    • 150–250 words

    • Clearly state the research background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions

  4. Keywords

    • Min 3 keywords

    • Avoid words already used in the title

  5. Introduction

    • Research background and problem formulation

    • Research objectives and significance

    • Relevant literature review

  6. Methods

    • Research design and methodology

    • Data sources, instruments, and procedures

    • Analysis techniques

  7. Results and Discussion

    • Clear presentation of findings

    • Interpretation and comparison with previous studies

    • Scientific implications

  8. Conclusion

    • Summary of key findings

    • Limitations and future research directions

  9. Acknowledgements (optional)

    • Funding sources and institutional support

  10. References

    • Only cited works should be included

5. Formatting Guidelines

  • Paper size: A4

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font size: 12 pt (main text)

  • Line spacing: 1.15

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)

Tables and figures must:

  • Be numbered sequentially

  • Have clear titles and captions

  • Be referenced in the text

6. Citation and References

  • Use the IEEE Style

  • References should primarily consist of peer-reviewed journal articles

  • At least 80% of references should be published within the last 5–10 years

7. Ethical Considerations

Authors must adhere to ethical research and publication standards, including:

  • Originality and avoidance of plagiarism

  • Proper citation of sources

  • Disclosure of conflicts of interest

Manuscripts with plagiarism levels exceeding the journal’s tolerance threshold will be rejected.

8. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts are reviewed using a double-blind peer review system. The editorial decision is based on:

  • Relevance to the journal’s scope

  • Scientific quality and novelty

  • Methodological rigor

Possible editorial decisions include:

  • Accepted

  • Accepted with minor revisions

  • Accepted with major revisions

  • Rejected

9. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s Online Journal System (OJS). Authors should complete all required metadata during submission.

10. Open Access Policy

Jurnal Penelitian Sains Teknologi provides open access to its content to support the global exchange of scientific knowledge.
