Open Access Policy

General Policy: All research articles published in Suhuf are open to access immediately and freely available to read, download, and share upon publication. Articles are published under the terms of a Creative Commons license, which allows for their use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

License and Rights

  1. The author(s) and copyright holder(s) grant to all users a free, irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual right of access to, and a license to copy, use, distribute, transmit, display publicly, and make and distribute derivative works of the published articles. These rights are granted in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution of authorship as defined by community standards.
  2. Authors are permitted to make a limited number of printed copies for their personal use.

Archiving and Accessibility A complete version of the work and all supplemental materials, including a copy of the license as stated above, is deposited immediately upon initial publication in at least one online repository. This repository must be supported by an academic institution, scholarly society, government agency, or other well-established organization that supports open access, unrestricted distribution, interoperability, and long-term archiving. For Islamic studies and related disciplines, a suitable repository would be specified based on field relevance and international accessibility.

Notes:

  • Open access is a characteristic of individual works, rather than the journals or publishers as entities.
  • Community standards will govern the enforcement of proper attribution and responsible use of the published works, as is currently practiced.

This adapted policy aims to promote the broad dissemination and accessibility of scholarly work in Islamic Studies, supporting the principles of open knowledge and academic collaboration.
