Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS

Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik Industri (JITI) welcomes papers related to the development of science in Industrial Engineering, both in the form of research or literature review.  The editorial board decides papers to be published in the JITI after review by reviewers appointed by the board. Authors will be advised of reviewers’ comments and suggestions. 

Submission and Correspondence

Author could submit paper by email. Files should be named as follows: first four letters should be JITI, followed by the first name of the first author, and followed first word of the title, i.e.: JITI-ahmad-design.

Manuscripts should be typed single spaced (12-pitch font size) in a single column format on one side of letter size paper with 2.5 cm wide margin (bottom, left, right) and 4 cm on top margin. The length of a manuscript should be between 10 to 15 pages total (references, figures, tables, appendices, etc. inclusive). All pages should be numbered consecutively.

The author's name listed without academic degrees and placed under the article's title. The lead author is listed first and are required to include e-mail address to facilitate communication. Agencies and its affiliates are written in full mailing address (street name, area and postcode).

Dateline of submission

June edition : the end of prior February
December edition : the end of prior August

Language 

The language of the journal is Bahasa Indonesia. However, papers in English are also highly considered. Abstract of paper written in Indonesian language should be written in English and in Bahasa Indonesia. Abstract of paper written in English should be written in English only.

Starting from June 2020 edition (Vol. 19 No. 1), JITI publishes article in English only.

Style 

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order: Title; authors and affiliations; abstract and keywords; main body of paper; acknowledgment (where applicable); references; appendices (where applicable).

Abstract should not exceed 150 words. The abstract should indicate the subject and scope of the paper and summarize the author’s conclusion, so it may become a useful document in an information-retrieval system. Three to seven key words should be included.

Units 

SI units must be used throughout in the manuscript. No rigid rules concerning notation or abbreviation need to be observed, but each manuscript should be self-contained as to symbols and units, which should be properly defined.

Figures and Tables 

Diagrams, charts, illustrations, and photographs, are to be referred to as “Figure(s)”. All figures and tables should be placed within the text and identified with consecutive Arabic (not Roman) number in the order they are referred (separate numbers for tables and figures). All figures should be clear and suitable for reduction (up to 50% original size). Lettering must be clear and must be large enough to be reduced by the same proportion. 

Mathematical expressions 

Mathematical symbols and formulae should be typed. Particular care should be exercised in identifying all symbols and in avoiding ambiguities. Distinction should be made between the number one (1) and the letter l, or i and between the number zero (0) and the letter o. Equations must be numbered consecutively. Equation numbers should appear in parentheses. All equation number must appear on the right-hand side of the equation and should be referred to within the text. 

References 

References are the primary sources in the form of books, research reports (including thesis, dissertation) or research articles in scientific journals. References as much as possible the libraries issue the last 10 years. References and citations using the technique enclosed references (name, year). Inclusion of a source in a direct quotation should be accompanied by a description of the page number where the origin of the quote. Example: (Davis, 2002: 47).
