Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

General Information

Journal of Biomedika accepts scientific papers from UMS Faculty of Medicine's educative staff, alumni of  Faculty of Medicine UMS, doctors from all over Indonesia and abroad. Papers can be in the form of research, case reports, literature review, book reviews, and other writings in the field of medicine and health and free from the elements of plagiarism. The language used is good and correct Indonesian language based on the General Guidelines for Enhanced Indonesian Spellings and General Guidelines for the Establishment of Terms, or in English.

Manuscript Format

The paper are typed on A4 paper, upper, lower, and side borders of 2.50 cm each, double spacing, Times New Roman 11 font, no back and forth, up to 15 pages and one abstract page.

The research script (original essay) should include:

  1. The title, made short is informative and able to explain the contents of the writings, the names of the complete authors without the title along with the address of the office/agency / other workplace, placed under the title, accompanied by email addresses for correspondence
  2. Abstract in English and Indonesia consists of 100-150 words, non aleniasi font Times New Roman 10, italics, with a minimum of 3 keywords
  3. Introduction contains backgrounds, formulas, objectives, and benefits of research (each does not need to be subtitled by yourself)
  4. Method, if there is separation, there are only two tools & materials and how to work and should be made made narration
  5. Results and discussion combined
  6. Conclusions and suggestions (if any)
  7. Compensation (thank you if any)
  8. Bibliography (Harvard method of row spacing one space, between references spaced two spaces)

Case reports should contain case backgrounds, intentions and objectives, benefits, clinical data, illustrations and discussions, manuscript literature format, adjusting, especially in the introduction should contain problematic explanations under study, intent, purpose and usefulness and discussion Of what was reviewed and ended with the conclusion of the study.

 Tables, Graphs, and Drawings

Tables / charts / graphics / pictures / photos are made clearly and neatly, with clear and informative information. Numbered in sequence, table description is written above table, description of image is written below picture, font 10. Table is not allowed any vertical line, maximum three rows horizontal. References in texts are based on the Harvard model.
