Peer Review Process

Peer Review Policy
The practice of peer review is to ensure that good manuscripts are published. It is a process that is at the core of good scientific publishing and is carried out in all reputable journals. Our reviewers play an important role in maintaining a high standard of peerreviewed manuscripts by following the procedures outlined below.

Initial Manuscript Evaluation
All submitted manuscripts are checked for completeness and compliance with the Author Guidelines. Successful manuscripts are then submitted to the Editor for consideration for submission to peer review. Authors whose manuscripts are rejected at the initial evaluation stage will usually be notified within 1 month of receipt.

Editor evaluation
When receiving a new manuscript, the Editor will decide whether the manuscript needs to be reviewed by a bestary partner or should be rejected without review. Manuscripts rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, have serious conceptual and/or methodological flaws, have poor grammar, or fall outside the purpose and scope of the journal.

Authors whose manuscripts are rejected at this stage will usually be notified within 1 month of submission to the editor.

Feedback is provided by the Editor for all manuscripts rejected without review and, where possible, advice is given on other appropriate publication outlets.

Manuscripts deemed worthy of review by bestary partners will be forwarded to at least 2 expert reviewers for review.

Type of peer review
InclusiveEdu uses blind review, where the reviewers remain anonymous throughout the process.

How the reviewers are selected
The reviewers are matched with papers according to their expertise.

Reviewer reports
Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript for:

Originality and significance of contributions
Focus and relevance of scope adequacy of methodology, analysis and interpretation clear and concise writing style organization

Reviewers are asked to provide anonymous comments to the authors and are also given the option to provide confidential comments to the editor. Comments provided to authors are also visible to other reviewers of the manuscript.
Reviewers are not expected to proofread or copyedit the manuscript. Language correction is not part of the peer review process.

How long does the review process take?
Usually the manuscript will be reviewed within 90 days. If the reports from the reviewers contradict each other or the report is too long overdue, further expert opinion will be sought. If necessary, the revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers, usually within 1 month. Reviewers and the Editor may request more than one revision of the manuscript, and alternative reviewers may also be invited to review the manuscript at any time.

The final decision an time to publication
The editor is responsible for the decision to reject or recommend a manuscript for publication. This decision will be sent to the authors along with the recommendations made by the referees.

Please note that we may forward accepted manuscripts for legal review if required.

Once accepted, it currently takes 1 week to get the uncorrected draft article online, another 4-5 weeks to get the corrected article online, and a few weeks later it will be compiled into an online volume and issue. Printed copies will follow 2-3 weeks later.

Some Policies Under Review:
1. Each submitted paper will be reviewed by two reviewers appointed by the editorial board.
2. The review process uses Double-blind Review, i.e. the reviewer does not know the identity of the author, and the author does not know the identity of the reviewer.
3. Reviewers consider the suitability of the title, abstract, discussion (findings), and conclusion in the review process. In addition, reviewers also consider novelty, scientific impact, and references used in the paper.
