PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN KESEHATAN MENTAL DAN STRATEGI PEER-SUPPORT MELALUI MEDIA CHANNEL WHATSAPP

ABSTRAK
Mahasiswa angkatan 2022 hingga 2025 tergolong generasi yang rentan terhadap gangguan kesehatan mental akibat berbagai tekanan yang dihadapi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diselenggarakan oleh Fakultas Kedokteran UPI dengan pendekatan kedokteran jiwa dan bimbingan konseling, bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman kesehatan mental, strategi dukungan teman sebaya, serta menginisiasi Channel WhatsApp sebagai media sosial berisi konten positif. Kegiatan diawali dengan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) bersama tim PKM, narasumber dari RSJ Provinsi Jawa Barat, BKPK UPI, Poliklinik UPI, dan perwakilan mahasiswa. Selanjutnya, dilakukan seminar oleh dokter spesialis kejiwaan, diikuti oleh 40 mahasiswa dari seluruh fakultas UPI secara luring dan 15 mahasiswa dari Kampus Daerah UPI secara daring. Kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan penulisan konten positif media sosial dan peluncuran Channel WhatsApp Great Mental Health – FK UPI IDN, lalu ditutup dengan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan mahasiswa mengenai kesehatan mental yang diharapkan dapat disebarkan ke lingkungan fakultas masing-masing, serta terbentuknya platform edukatif digital yang menyajikan konten berkualitas tentang kesehatan mental.
ABSTRACT
Students enrolled between 2022 and 2025 are highly vulnerable to mental health issues due to various challenges they face. This community service program (CSP), initiated by the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, aims to promote mental health awareness and peer support strategies. It began with a focus group discussion (FGD) involving the CSP team, experts from the West Java Provincial Mental Hospital, UPI’s counselling services, the UPI Polyclinic, and student representatives. The program continued with a seminar led by a psychiatric specialist, attended by 40 offline student representatives from all UPI faculties and 15 online participants from regional campuses. This was followed by training on creating positive social media content and the launch of the Great Mental Health - FK UPI IDN WhatsApp Channel. The program concluded with an evaluation. As a result, students gained increased mental health knowledge expected to be disseminated within their faculties, alongside the creation of a digital platform providing accessible, educational mental health content.
