Author Guidelines

General Information

Medica Insight Journal (MIJ) accepts scientific manuscripts in the field of medicine and health, including original research articles, case reports, and literature reviews. All submissions must be the authors' original work and free from plagiarism. Manuscripts are written in English and must follow the official journal template before submission. All authors are also required to complete and sign the Authorship Agreement form and upload it as a supplementary file.

Manuscript Format

Manuscripts are typed in Arial font on A4 paper (21 cm × 29.7 cm), with top and left margins of 2.5 cm and bottom and right margins of 2.0 cm. The body text uses 1.15 line spacing. The title is written in Arial 12pt bold, single-spaced, and capitalized at each word. Author names are written in Arial 11pt bold, single-spaced, in full and without academic titles, with each name followed by a superscript number indicating its affiliation (department, faculty, and university). Correspondence details should include the email address of the first author, and an institutional email address is preferred. A clearer guide can be seen in the template (download template here).

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract is written in a single paragraph of 150–200 words in Arial 10pt italic, single-spaced. It must be structured to include the background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusion of the study. The background introduces the research context, the underlying problem, and the urgency of the topic; the objectives state specifically and measurably what the study aims to achieve; the methods describe how the research was conducted; the results present the main findings supported by key numerical data; and the conclusion summarizes the significance of the findings in relation to the stated objectives. The abstract is accompanied by article history information (received, revised, accepted, and published dates). A maximum of five keywords is provided in Arial 10pt, capitalized at each word.

Manuscript Structure

The research manuscript should be organized into the following sections, each with a 12pt bold heading and 1.15 line spacing:

The Introduction presents the background, a review of previous literature (state of the art) as the basis for the scientific novelty of the article, the research hypotheses, and the benefits and objectives of the study. It should establish the problem being addressed, its importance and urgency, recent discussions on the topic, and end with a clear statement of the originality and scientific novelty of the work.

The Methods section describes the sample selection, study design, instruments, materials, location, data collection techniques, variables and their operational definitions, and the data analysis techniques used in the study.

The Results and Discussion section contains the findings obtained from the research, supported by adequate data, and must answer the research questions or hypotheses stated in the introduction. Results may be presented as tables, graphs, or diagrams, each followed immediately by its discussion. The discussion should explain the results, compare them with findings from similar studies, and address the study's limitations where relevant.

The Conclusion addresses the research objectives or questions and summarizes the findings as expected from the objectives or hypotheses, rather than repeating the results and discussion. Suggestions for future research may be included in this section.

The Acknowledgement section is directed to those who supported the study, particularly grant or funding providers.

Tables and Figures

A maximum of five tables and figures is permitted (for example, two tables and three figures). Each table caption is placed above the table and each figure caption below the figure, written in 10pt font. Tables and figures are attached at the end of the manuscript, after the references.

References

All in-text citations must be listed in the references and formatted according to the APA 7th Edition style. Each manuscript should contain at least 20 references, with a minimum of 80% drawn from primary sources such as scientific journals and proceedings published within the last five years. Authors are required to use reference management software such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero.

Authorship Agreement

All authors must complete and sign the Authorship Agreement form and upload it as a supplementary file during submission. Download the form here: Authorship Agreement Template
