Evaluasi Praktik Penulisan Fanfiction pada Mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Universitas Negeri Surabaya
Abstract
This study aims to describe the selection of fanfiction types, obstacles to writing fanfiction, and solutions to obstacles to writing fanfiction by undergraduate students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education at Surabaya State University. This research uses a qualitative and case study approach to describe the phenomenon in depth. The data sources in this study are 19 students who have experience writing fanfiction. The research data is in the form of student responses about the type of fanfiction chosen, the obstacles faced, and the solutions that can be applied. The data collection technique was carried out through an open questionnaire and then analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed that Alternative Universe (AU) was the dominant type of fanfiction students chose. Students' main obstacles include technical difficulties, limited ideas, time management, low motivation, limited research, and emotional delivery. Solutions that students can implement include writing practice, reference exploration, better time management, and support from the community and academics. This research contributes to understanding fanfiction as a means of creative literacy and learning to write in an academic environment.
