Background: The accumulation of dental plaque and calculus serves as a local etiological factor of periodontal disease. Gingivitis and periodontitis are common periodontal conditions found in the oral cavity. Without prompt initial treatment, these conditions may progress to more severe stages. Objective: This case report discusses the management of gingival curettage in a patient with chronic inflammatory gingival enlargement. Case Report: A 16‑year‑old female adolescent presented with complaints of frequent gingival bleeding during toothbrushing. Intraoral examination revealed swollen and erythematous gingiva across the entire anterior region. The patient demonstrated an OHI score of 6.1, a plaque index of 55.4%, and positive BOP on teeth 32, 31, 41, and 42. A probing depth of 4 mm was recorded on the mesial and distal aspects of tooth 41. Case Management: Treatment included scaling and root planing as the initial phase, followed by gingival curettage and the provision of Dental Health Education. Conclusion: Curettage treatment was successful, demonstrated by reduced probing depths of 1 mm on the distal side and 2 mm on the mesial side of tooth 41. Clinically, the gingiva showed no signs of swelling or erythema, and the OHI score improved to a good level.
