Abstract

Aset heritage yang ditinggalkan dari masa lalu memegang peranan penting dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat saat ini. Akan tetapi pelestarian heritage banyak mengalami masalah, terutama pada situs heritage yang masih dihuni. Salah satu pendekatan konservasi yang berkaitan dengan hal tersebut adalah pendekatan Living heritage. Living heritage merupakan sebuah situs heritage yang masih asli, dijaga dan dikembangkan oleh komunitas inti yang berada pada situs tersebut, memiliki nilai-nilai yang terus diwariskan dari generasi ke generasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pendekatan living heritage. Peneliitian dilakukan dengan studi literatur untuk mengetahui pengertian dan prinsip-prinsip living heritage yang dapat dikembangkan sebagai sebuah pendekatan konservasi, serta menelusuri penerapan living heritage pada negara-negara lain. Pada kesimpulanya, pendekatan living heritage merupakan jawaban untuk konservasi situs heritage dan manusia. Living heritage dapat menjadi sebuah pendekatan konservasi yang menjembatani antara orisinalitas masa lalu dan keberlanjutan di masa depan.
