Peer Review Process
Journal of Geo-environmental Sustainability is a peer-reviewed journal.
All manuscripts submitted to this journal must adhere to its focus, scope, and author guidelines. The manuscripts should demonstrate scientific merit or novelty relevant to the journal's focus and scope. They must be free of plagiarism, and authors are encouraged to use plagiarism detection software to check for similarity. The editors will use Turnitin software to check for plagiarism in submitted articles.
Every manuscript submitted to this journal will undergo a double-blind peer review process by at least two expert reviewers. The reviewers' constructive scientific feedback will be shared with the authors to help them improve their work. When submitting a revised manuscript, authors should explain how they have addressed the reviewers' comments. If there is any disagreement with the reviewers' comments, authors should provide their reasons.
The final decision on the acceptance of an article will be made by the editors. The criteria for evaluating papers include novelty, interest to a broad audience, paper quality, appropriate methodology, and the interpretation of results provided by the authors. The publication of accepted manuscripts will be based on the order of their acceptance date.
The Editor-in-Chief oversees the entire editorial process and coordination, with the support of Associate Editors who manage the review process for manuscripts related to their areas of expertise. The final decision to accept or reject a paper lies with them. The Editor reserves the right to make minor corrections to style, phrasing, and the arrangement of figures without consulting the author. If significant changes are needed, the author will be asked to approve them. The average time for the entire editorial process is 27 weeks.
