Vol. 7 No. 3 (2026): Movement to Recovery: Contemporary Physiotherapy in Practice
This theme explores developments in modern physiotherapy, which focuses on the comprehensive restoration of patients’ movement, function and quality of life. Contemporary physiotherapy approaches are evolving through the integration of evidence-based practice, therapeutic exercise, technology and multimodal rehabilitation strategies. A range of interventions can be applied to help reduce pain, improve mobility, optimise strength and movement control, and restore patients’ functional abilities. The discussion covers various fields of physiotherapy, ranging from musculoskeletal, neurology, paediatrics, cardiorespiratory, to sports physiotherapy. The use of technology and objective measurement tools also plays a vital role in supporting the processes of assessment, intervention, monitoring, and evaluation of therapeutic outcomes. Each intervention must be tailored to the characteristics, needs, clinical condition and functional goals of each individual patient. The integration of clinical approaches, the latest research findings and the individual needs of patients forms the basis for delivering safe and effective physiotherapy care. It is hoped that this theme will serve as a platform for sharing the latest research, innovations and physiotherapy practices in support of patients’ journey from movement to recovery.
